Dior Navy Slip Gown

Sometimes called the Navy Nightie gown, this navy silk column shift was considered edgy when Diana wore it to the Met Gala in 1996. Designed by John Galliano for the House of Dior before his fall from public favour, the gown is edged in black lace and was worn with a matching satin wrap. It's the only time the gown made an outing. John Galliiano commented afterwards that he wished Diana had worn the special support undergarment he had designed to go underneath.

She complimented it with her sapphire and diamond pearl choker and the double drop sapphire halo cluster earrings, navy silk pumps and quilted Dior evening bag.
