Vernacular name:  Indian red water lily (English); Kumud (Hindi)

Nativity: India to Indochina and Malaysia (POWO, 2019)

Common Characteristics: Perennial aquatic herbs. Leaf blade ovate to suborbicular, peltate, floating at water surface, margin dentate. Flower bisexual, floating, crimson red.

Flowering period: Blooms almost throughout the year

Propagation Methods: Propagated by rhizomes (Dave’s Garden)
