Nativity: East Mediterranean to Pakistan (POWO, 2019)

Common Characteristics: Annual glabrous herb. Upper leaves narrowly segmented while lower leaves ovate in outline and segmented. Inflorescence compound unbel. Flowers small, peripheral flowers in umbel with enlarged posterior petals.

Flowering period: February to April

Propagation Methods: Propagated from seeds (the Spruce)

Vernacular name:  Fennel, Finocchio, Florence fennel, (English); Sauf (Hindi)

Nativity: Mediterranean to Ethiopia and West Nepal (POWO, 2019)

Common Characteristics: Erect perennial herbs. Leaves filiform segmented. Flowers in compound umbel, small, yellow. Seed narrow- ovoid.

Flowering period: February to April
