Leaves simple, spirally arranged, with often flat lamina vernation, two basal glands present.
Flowers tetra or pentamerous, bisexual, unisexual or polygamous.
Stamens free or united at base or apex, anthers often with large apical glands.
Style usually long, stigmas expanded to punctuate; stylodia free or united.
Fruit a drupe, berry or capsule, with 1-many seed bearing large cotyledons.

Common Characteristics: Evergreen medium size tree. Leaves narrow, lanceolate, drooping, white glaucous beneath. Flower white, with numerous stamens. Fruits globose.
