This we started by drawing a shoe, I drew a Croc. Once the shoe was complete we used a view finder to zoom in on one point of the shoe. Then we zoomed in on the already zoomed in shoe, we did this 2 times to get a total of three zoomed views. After the three zoomed ones where complete the task was to choose one these views and elaborate on it.
I chose to the middle one, I chose this one because it was one that a few lines but enough space where I could do something with the space that was there. I started by just drawing in the biggest space, this line ended up being the trunk of the tree. Once I drew one line I thought it looked like a tree, then I got the idea of the layers of the earth. this then lead me to draw a seagull in the top section, a blooming tree in the biggest, a rocky shoreline in the next one down and then a cow in the bottom one (The last square shows the abstract side).
I drew these sections by scratching lightly with a pencil then going in with an ink pen and outlining and adding detail. Once I had completed the outline with the ink pen I began adding water color. I wanted a more blotchy free look to the ink lines so I went around the lines with just water then added a little bit of the color to the water. By doing this the paint flows along the water that is already there and this makes it look looser. And no one would ever guess that the drawing above is a shoe.
