Creative Color Design

With the creative color design project we practiced mixing shades and tints of all the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. We started by practicing with a simply value scale, starting with a primary color and by added different amounts of black we created shades. Then we did the same thing using white paint to create the tints. After creating the value scale we went on to coming up with an idea that would have 84 different sections, for the 12 main colors (primary, secondary, tertiary). Each color would have three shades and three tints.

For some reason I chose to have Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore be the subject in my project. I began with background, I used all the different greens. Next I split Pooh up into sections, his shirt would be the reds and he would cover all the yellows. I moved on to Eeyore next. He would cover all the blues and violets, I still needed something for the oranges so I added the a flower and a ballon. Once all the painting was done I went in with oil based sharpers and outlined all the different sections of color.

The idea I came up with was the first one that came into my head and I think if I was to do this project again I would change my idea to something more abstract. Although I am really pleased with how this project turned out.
