Beautiful Oops

For the Beautiful Oops project we were directed to take a “mistake” or a dot on a page and turn it into something beautiful, hence the title “Beautiful Oops”. So we were given a paper with an ink dot and we had to turn that ink dot into something. When I got the paper I didn't see anything right away but I started to draw a few lines with a 4H pencil and soon decided that I would draw a dinosaur but then as I kept drawing I decided it would be a dinosaur with a duck head.

I started drawing my dinosaur with a duck head by using a 4H pencil to get the lines down, then because they were the closest colorful thing around I used colored pens to outline. Then went in with water color and added more detail. I wanted to keep the dinosaur green but also had to add the dots in which I thought looked like the spines on its back. Then I used gold ink to add the dots (tips) to the ink drops.

I like this project because it makes us think outside of the box and we already have a base on what we need to incorporate into the piece of art yet it allows for anything to be created. I think I could improve on this project by adding a background for the dinosaur to inhabit rather than the white space.

For the Beautiful Oops project we were directed to take a “mistake” or a dot on a page and turn it into something beautiful, hence the title “Beautiful Oops”. Since I joined the class late, I didn't have a dot so I used a line drawn by Mr. A. The Line Mr. A drew was a with a dark blue shapry, it went up and made a curve and plunged down lifted off the paper and then curved down like a basket and back up.

With the line drawn by Mr. A I began to draw in pencil a shape. As I continue to draw random shapes I began to see a nose so I erased the shapes and began to draw a face. Then I began to draw another face in the other curve of the line. Once I had two faces, I began to see another face, with the nose and the hair of the other two people at the eyebrows. So I drew another face. Once I finished in pencil I went in with a pen and added more detail. I enjoyed this project because it started out as just a line and I began to draw something and the project turned totally into something else.

I enjoyed this project because it allows almost all creativity with just a little structurer. I think I could improve on this project by using an ink spot, if I had an ink spot it would have made the project fit the criteria more and also it would have allowed for a different out come of art.
