As part of the BBC's "World War One at Home" documentary series, "The Trawlermen" will air at 7.30pm on BBC1 on Monday 2nd June.

The programme, presented by Miranda Krestovnikoff, examines the role of East Coast fishermen in World War I and in particular looks at the Grimsby trawler skipper William Martin, who left a Zeppelin crew to die and was accused by the Germans of being a war criminal.

Friends of Cleethorpes Heritage's research into the incredible tale of Skipper Martin and his trawler, the King Stephen, was used by the BBC in the making of the documentary. Click on the link below to read our story.
