Heritage Trail Blazers Brave The Cold

Post date: Mar 19, 2016 9:15:49 PM

Local youngsters braved a cold Spring morning today as Friends of Cleethorpes Heritage celebrated the launch of its new Boy with the Leaking Boot heritage trail and quiz.

Among those who took to the trail were our very own boys with (hopefully not) leaking boots Anastasios and Leonidas

Kapatsoulias (pictured left), a couple of smashing lads who really got into the spirit of things . They also gave us some great ideas about putting on trails covering other areas of Cleethorpes.

First to complete the trail and receive their medals and certificates were Chloe and Floyd Allenby (pictured right). Yesterday was Floyd's seventh birthday and he passed up a celebratory trip to the Deep today in favour of completing our trail and spending the day enjoying the delights of Cleethorpes. Good lad!

The trail, which has been funded through  our last Awards for All grant, is an ongoing project and the heritage trail maps and quiz sheets will be available from the Tourist Information Centre at Cleethorpes Library throughout the year, at a cost of only 50p per child. Every child who completes the trail will receive a certificate and winner's medal and will go away knowing more about Cleethorpes' heritage.
