FOCH Statement

Friends of Cleethorpes Heritage would like to clarify the reason for their decision to withdraw from this weekend's 150 years of the railway event. 

The idea of celebrating this event was originally ours and we were happy to work with other groups to enlarge and enrich it, making it an even more memorable occasion, which would have included FOCH bringing the 'Rocket' from the York Railway Museum to Cleethorpes.

Despite comments in the local press, our withdrawal from the event WAS NOT due to funding issues, but rather the moving of the goalposts by one of our partners. The original parameters for the structure of the event were changed in such a manner, that it became logistically impossible for us to carry on and present an exciting experience to our usual high and exacting standard.
