Son of James Fyfe (b. 1866 Dundee), a railway labourer at time of marriage in 1885 and later a lamplighter and Elizabeth Gilchrist (b. 1867 England), a domestic servant at time of marriage.

Brother of Helen (b 1894) and Jennie (b. 1900)

Died 02/10/1940, Age 36, at St James Hospital, Leeds

Married to Constance M Hands, 1926 in Grimsby

Father of Nicholas C Fyfe (b. 1927, Grimsby), Jack H. Fyfe (b. 1935, Grimsby) and George Fyfe (b. 1941). Sadly George, who was born just over seven months after his father’s death, died on 12/05/1941 after only living for a day and is buried in Cleethorpes Cemetery.

Appearance is described in 1930s’ records as 5 ft 6½in tall, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, brown eyes.

1931 – living at 64 St Peter’s Avenue, Cleethorpes

1936 – living at 100 Stirling Street, Grimsby

1939 – Nichol, Constance and their two sons are living at 11 Kew Road, Cleethorpes. Nichol is an electric wireman.

05/10/1939 – although war has broken out, the law must still be obeyed. The Grimsby Telegraph reports that “Nichol H Fyfe of 11 Kew Road was fined 5s for keeping a dog without a licence!
