We're very pleased to hear that Friends of Cleethorpes Heritage's virtual blue plaque for Freddie Frinton is now to be followed up by the real thing.

Freddie's eldest son Jim Coo tells us that the installation of the plaque will be taking place in the Pier Gardens on 27th September at 1pm. We're especially happy for Jim, who has done a lot to ensure that his dad is deservedly remembered for his long and successful career. Unfortunately he won't be able to make it over from America for the installation but we hope he will be able to visit and see the plaque in the future.

Apparently other members of Freddie's family are planning to attend the installation, as well as representatives from NDR, the German TV company which filmed "Dinner for One" and made Freddie the household name in Germany that he remains today. Let's hope this blue plaque will help to raise Freddie's profile in this country.
