We are ready to pass out boxes of supplies so that you are ready to build when we get back from the break. Mr. Nusser made enough supply boxes for every two advisory classes (since only eligbilbe students will be building.) Please send a student to S4 (Mr. Nusser's room) to pick up the box for you and your partner teacher's class. Be sure your student knows which advisory they are in AND who your partner class is. You will be given one box for the two of you.
Have student groups come up to the front of the class. They need to tell their classmates what their slogan is and show everyone what their plan for what they want to build. Once everyone has presented, have students vote on which project is best/they want to build. Remember to remind students that they need to think about 3 factors when they vote. Think about which has the best slogan, best model to go with it, AND has a design which is buildable. Pick the idea what has the best of these. Teachers- If any of the slogans or models are disrespectful and/or not school appropriate, please do not allow students to vote on them.
The building will start the week we return from Thanksgiving. There will be a special schedule so that advisory is a little longer to give you time to build your models. Students who are eligible academically, will go build in one room while students who are not eligible will go into another for a SILENT STUDYHALL TO WORK ON BRINGING UP YOUR GRADE. ONLY STUDENTS WHO PARTICIPATE AND HELP BUILD WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR PRIZES.
Your advisory teacher will allow you to build IF you finish/revise a significant number of your missing assignments. Talk to them and they will make a contract for you. If you complete your agreed upon missing work, you will be allowed to go with the build group even if your grades are still not quite eligible.
Teachers please dismiss students early (immediately) to lunch who meet the criteria set by your grade level.
Students who remain in class should work toward improving their grades.
