Remember, think about what you want to do for Genius Hour, pick a club that will help you accomplish your goal. You can see the new club descriptions below. It will help if you ask yourself - if I could learn anything I wanted that they do not teach me in school it would be..... Think of 5 things, keep these in mind when choosing clubs tomorrow!

It is time to choose clubs again. Some clubs are continuing and some clubs will be new, you can check with your current teacher. Keep in mind that you can use your club to help you create your Genius Hour Project over the next 6 weeks. Bellow is a list of clubs and descriptions for you to consider. You will be submitting a form on Friday to let us know your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice; each choice MUST be different (or we get to choose for you). We will do our best to honor your requests!
Advanced soccer - If you already are able to juggle a soccer ball more than 20 times, this is the class for you. You will be playing games to work on your touch and control. Come out and test your skills.
ASB/Leadership/Spirit - Students interested in ASB type of activities. Students will be responsible for selling in the Student Store one day a week, creating a spirit activity for Fun Friday, and also helping with posters and run music. Students from this class will be recommended for ASB next school year. Must be responsible, friendly, kind and have lots of SPIRIT and have a GPA of at least a 3.6 in academics and citizenship!
Book Nook/Homework - Have you ever been addicted to your book? Did you ever wish you had a quiet place to decompress and escape to another world through reading? The Book Nook Advisory will allow you the time to enjoy what novel YOU want to read at your pace. We can enjoy reading outside or inside with partners or in solitude. This is also a great opportunity to share book suggestions with others and visit the library to check out books.
Cardio boot camp / run club - CA mixture of cardio and strength training. Come and get in a good workout.
Chess and Board Game Club - Students will participate in chess and other board and card games.
Drawing Club - Bring your inspiration, your artistic passion and drawing utensils to design, create and share with others. This class is strictly for students who are looking for an opportunity to draw in a calm and focused environment. (Art supplies not provided).
Genius Hour/Pathfinder Club - Do you want help completing your Genius Hour project? Do you want to do a project but cannot find a club that matches your interests? Then this is YOUR club. We will help you develop your personal Genius Hour Project!
Hip-Hop Music Appreciation - In this club, we will be listening and breaking down different hip-hop songs each day. You will have assignments in selecting songs from specific hip-hop categories, such as songs from your birth year or songs that have a choreographed dance. Toward the end of the 6-week term, we will be writing our own hip-hop songs and performing them for the class. This would be great to use for your Genius Hour/iShowcase presentation.
Homework Club - Are you busy with after school activities? Here is a chance to get your homework done! No homework? Then here's your chance to enjoy a good book!!
iMovie Video - Students will work through one guided project called "The Door" to learn story boarding, camera angles and how to edit using imovie. Once completed students can create projects of their choice that may be featured on our iMiddle News. Projects you create can also be used for your Genius Hour/iShowcase project.
Laser Cutter Maker Club - Create and cut out items on the laser cutter. You will be using computer to design your own items. You should be motivated to create your own items. (We may look into creating our own iMiddle non-profit business where we sell the stuff you create).
Math Club/Homework - In Math Club, we will explore real-world math problems, focusing on data collection and making graphs using Google Sheets to interpret data.
STEAM/Coding - STEAM Club is a creative time for coding, designing, and building way cool stuff. It’s fun, high tech, and sometimes even low tech.
Strategic Games and Game Development (Virtual or Board game style) - Students in this class will be given the opportunity to learn/play different strategic games. From playing these games, students will work to develop/invent their own game. These games can be board game style or coded online games. This process of developing a game can also be used as your Genius Hour Project for iShowcase.
Take a Break Club - Need a quiet environment to take a break and listen to music, draw, play an online academic game, do a quiet activity that calms you down after an exhaustive morning? Students MUST HAVE HEADPHONES, and materials to use when in the club. This will be a SILENT room, with independent quiet activities.
