The Line-Up
Find a place away from the circle to line up in a specific order. This time, students and staff will line up according to birthday. The front of the line will be January 1st and the end of the line will be December 31st. Circle members must communicate with one another to make sure they are in the correct order. When you think you are done, each member will say their birthday out loud to make sure it was done correctly. You will then sit back down in the circle in the same order that you lined up in.
This week is START WITH HELLO WEEK.
Quick Question: What does inclusive/inclusivity mean?
Circle Question
Have you ever felt left out of a particular situation before? Or not part of a group/activity that you would have liked to be part of? Tell us about your experience and how it made you feel.
Who is someone on campus who has helped you in some way this school year, and how?
As a member of the iMiddle community, how do you spread the idea of inclusivity around campus? (try to think outside the box and not share the same answers)
Closing Activity
Compliment Circle
All members of the community circle will stand. The circle leader will start by paying a compliment to another member of the circle. That person will then say, "Thank you". It is then their turn to pay a compliment to another person in the circle. Once a member of the circle has received and given a compliment, they will sit down. Continue the process until each person in the circle is seated.
Examples:
"Layla, I really like your shoes." "LJ, you have really cool hair." "Juel, thank you for helping me in Science class."
