Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.
Being kind often requires courage and strength. Kindness is an interpersonal skill. Being kind can strengthen your friendships and relationships with loved ones, and can increase your sense of satisfaction in your life.

How kind are you? What are some ways to show kindness here at iMiddle? At home with your siblings? With your parents? To yourself?
Good news challenge....Everyone in class take a moment to think of something positive that has happened to you lately, or a positive comment/shout out you would like to share to someone else in class. Let these sentence starters help you out.
One good thing in my life is…
Something good that happened is…
I really like how…
I noticed that…
I’d like to give a shout-out to…
Now go around the room and start spreading that kindness (remember that being kind would mean only one person speaks at a time, others are listening, being respectful, mature and appropriate)
‘Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.’ Henry James, Novelist

For the last week, you should have taken a few minutes daily to write down the topics you have been learning in your classes. Make this a daily habit. At the beginning of each advisory period, write down the topics from period 6 and 7 from the previous day and periods 1-4.
The learning log is a technique to help students focus on what they are learning in their classes by writing their thoughts, reactions, and responses to class lectures, videos, and discussions. A learning log is a written reflection of students' perceptions of what is being learned and how they are learning. It also provides a record of students' growth over time. Writing a learning log is an excellent way to use writing as a process of discovery and to clarify ideas. The learning log is one way to use writing as a tool for learning. Otherwise stated, the learning log can answer the question, "How do I know what I think until I see what I write?"
Students please open and make a copy of this learning log , save it to your advisory folder in your drive, and fill it out in order to be dismissed to lunch today (it is your exit ticket).
Next week your advisory teacher will be checking your signature on the assignment you tried to revise in order to improve your grade. If you have a signature, you will be released early to lunch.

What do you think? Does Success lead to Happiness or does Happiness lead to Success?
This week we have been talking about KINDNESS. How can kindness lead to more positivity and happiness on our campus??
Would this lead to more successful students? Think about it!! :) Think about how much work you do and how you feel in your classes when you are not in a good mood, versus when you are feeling happy and positive. When we are feeling good, we are more willing to try new things and be motivated. Lets work on becoming SUPER SUCCESSFUL and start with being KIND to one another!!!
