Sept 5 to 8

Tuesday Sept 5th

Announcements:

  • The iMiddle Robotics team is today Tuesday Sept 5th in Room 14. Room 14 is on the other side of the tennis courts by the bus-turn-around. It is NOT B14. The team meets from 3 to 4:30. We are competing in First Lego League and the VEX Robotics Competition. On Tuesday we will learn about this year's games and we will answer questions about the club. If you want to join, come to one of the meetings. You can see Mr. Nusser in room 14 (mornings) or room S4 (afternoon) for more details.

Announcement:

  • The Skateboard Rack outside the office has been finished. The slots were deepened to fit larger boards and the hasps were attached. Please lock up your boards in the rack. Any regular lock will work. The rack is designed to keep your board secure during the school day, but please do NOT leave your board over night.
  • The Scooter Rack is also ready for most scooters. Mr. Nusser was told a few scooters would not fit in the current system. Students will widen a few slots to accommodate the wider scooters later this week.
  • If you have an issue locking up your equipment, let Mr. N or the office know what the issue is so that we can fix it. Be specific.

Announcement:

  • Congratulate Savannah Mc and Elizabeth B for the most amazing rocket launcher ever.

We launched there rocket from Mr. Nusser's Engineering room. Their rocket went over the fence and into the basket!!!!!!!

Zoom in and you can see the rocket in the net!

If Mr. Nusser is able to keep shooting like that 8th graders might be in trouble at the end of the year staff vs students basketball game :)

ADVISORY Week 2

Wednesday 9/6

Thursday 9/7

Advisory Teachers please have all students pull up their schedules on PowerSchool. Teachers please walk around the room and look at every students schedule and make sure that they have all the core classes (Math, Science, English, History, and PE) and one elective. If any students have two electives and are missing a core class, please send them to the counselor. (Some new to English students might NOT have a history class. If you are concerned, let the counselor know).

Think Before You React!!

Friday 9/8 - Can YOu Escape?

Escape Room

This week's ASB Advisory challenge will be an escape room. Your ASB reps will be there to help you along the way. You'll need to use your wits to escape, and become an ASB team challenge winner.

You'll need to be in groups of 4-6 (no more than six groups total).

Your advisory teacher will open up the slides with the directions, and the escape room Google form (ASB reps will help run the escape room on the computer, if needed).

Open both the directions and Escape Room (google form below)

Escape Room

Quick Directions (refer to slide presentation for details):

Task 1

All groups will work on Task 1. The first group to solve the puzzle will bring the answer to the teacher who will enter the solution. If it is correct, all groups will advance to Task 2.

Task 2

The first group to solve Task 2, will bring it to the teacher who will enter the code. If it is correct, all groups advance to Task 3.

Task 3

This is an image with clues. The whole class can solve this puzzle together. Once the teacher enters the code, all groups will work on Task 4. (The image is in the slide presentation.)

Task 4

Pay attention to the hint on the direction slide.

The first group to solve the code shows It to the teacher. If the code is correct, you will see that you have escaped!!!!

Once your advisory class has escaped, your ASB rep will run to the library where Ms. Ladeby and Ms. Miller will determine first place winners for 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade. Winners will be announced on Monday and rewarded! All advisory classes who successfully escaped will receive spirit points!
