Welcome back and happy new year! Hopefully you feel rested and are ready to open up your minds to learning again. Our semester is ending soon...only 3 weeks away. This time will go by fast, so it is important to take time today and tomorrow to make sure are satisfied with your grades and your citizenship. Ask yourself:
Is there anything I could improve upon?
Do I have any missing assignments?
Do I have tests to fix up or retake for a higher grade?
Am I being an model iMiddle student, listening, participating, focused, engaged, collaborating?
Am I practicing a growth mindset?
Am I being respectful to my peers and the staff at iMiddle?
Many people make new years resolutions this time of year. Resolutions are a promise to ourselves to start doing something good or to stop doing something bad. Individuals resolve to change an undesired trait or behavior, to accomplish a personal goal or otherwise improve their life.
What resolution would you want to make this year that will help you end Semester 1 strong and start Semester 2 on a good note?
Behavior Reminders, to start the year off right:
Electric scooters are not to be on campus under any circumstance. Students should not be riding electric scooters at all due to being under age and without a license. School police and City police can issue citations to student if caught riding these. Please be responsible and respectful of the laws, and your safety.
Any student riding a bike, skateboard, or razor type scooter must have a helmet on. You are also encouraged to lock these items up, as the school is not responsible for stolen items. Please make sure to WALK your scooter and bike and carry your skateboard in the bus turnaround area and if even walking through campus with these items.
Disrespect to any adult on campus will not be tolerated. Remember, this includes not following a staff member's directions, not giving your PAC card, and talking back to staff members as a few examples. Thank you for starting 2019 off in a respectful manner.
Bullying or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. All students have a right to feel safe while at school. If you see someone bothering another student, speak up and tell them to stop. Involve an adult as needed. Please do your part to keep our students and our campus safe.
Many, many, many of you have LOP today and this week. Ms. Prchal will be giving out slips to students who earned LOP the last couple weeks before break. Some of you have LOP because of Line 2 or 3 on your PAC. Some of you have it because you did not attend LOP when you previously got your PAC signed.
If you have LOP and you do not show up, you will be assigned additional consequences which may include In School or Out of School Suspension. No one will come get you for LOP. You must report to the LOP room B21 immediately after the end of Advisory.
Do not get lunch or go see your friends. You will be allowed to eat in LOP.
Please note that "I forgot" or "They didn't come and get me" are not excuses and will result in more LOPs or greater consequences. Thank you for being responsible and reporting to LOP when assigned.
As a class, read and discuss the brief article here

Who were you kind to today?
Who will you be kind to tomorrow?
How can being kind to just one person make a difference??
Take a minute to think about how you treat others... Are you proud of the person you are? Are you a person of INTEGRITY?
If so, how can you spread that to others?
If not, what can you do to improve?
