Say your name backward
Circle Questions
Check-in first: Describe how you are feeling in terms of the weather (cloudy, sunny, stormy, etc)
The next question is the same, but you are going to go around the circle and answer it 5 times, with a different answer each time. You are encouraged to go a little deeper each time to reflect on who you are and the "you" you present to others
Question: If someone asked you to describe yourself, what would you say? The response is I am.... (one word or short phrase each time). The response can describe you in your family, role with your friends, how you are feeling, etc. There are no right or wrong answers
After going around the circle with this 5 times, ask the following questions:
Is it difficult or easy for you to talk about yourself, and why?
Do you think the "you" you described today is the one you present to other peers at school? Why or why not?
Closing Activity
Body Stretch and Shake
Have everyone stand. Invite everyone to stretch their arms very high and then swing their arms down bending over at the waist, then slowly come up, one vertebra at a time, until they are standing straight, then shake their bodies all over energetically. When the energy dissipates, invite them to relax their bodies and take a deep breath
