Warm- Up Activity

Alphabet Game

The teacher chooses a random letter and any students who have that letter in their name change spots. This can be varied by using colors (students who are wearing that color move to a different seat).

Circle Questions

• Testing can be a lot for many students. It can feel overwhelming and stressful. Describe to us in one word how you’re feeling about testing.

• What is one strategy you use that is helpful with either test-taking itself, or managing your stress levels during test-taking time?

• When we are feeling overwhelmed or stressed, it is important to take time to do something that makes you happy and that you enjoy. What is something you can do each day this week to feel good?

Closing Activity

Fortunately/Unfortunately

Tell a story one sentence at a time. Have students use "fortunately" and

"unfortunately" alternately as the first word of the sentence.
