PBIS - Earn Signatures

One of the best rewards we can give is dismissal early to lunch. Our early to lunch days are Monday and Friday. If you earn signatures in your planner from your teachers you can be dismissed early to lunch on one of those days. You can earn signatures by displaying the weeks theme in your classes as well as other advisory assignments.

This weeks Theme:

Accountability

The definition of accountability is taking or being assigned responsibility for something that you have done or something you are supposed to do.

a. An example of accountability is when a student admits an error s/he made on a project.

b. When a student is given the task of making sure a project goes right and knows she will be blamed if it doesn't, she can also be said to have accountability for the project.

Take responsibility for your actions.

Teachers be on the lookout and recognize students who are demonstrating accountability, recognize students by signing the bottom of their planner!

Digital Citizenship Unit 1 Lesson 1 - Digital Life 101

Each week we are going to explore issues surrounding technology use and how it impacts us! You will be asked to complete a task with each lesson.

Please watch the following video: Digital Life 101

Discuss the following questions (students will pick one of these questions to write about):

  • The video explains that before the internet and cell phones, we consumed media, but now we create and share media. What are some of the ways you participate by creating and sharing through apps and the internet
  • Think of someone around your age who creates awesome content online. What is so impressive about his or her work?
  • Why is Wikipedia an example of creating and sharing through the internet? Have you ever shared your knowledge with others through a website?
  • What are some ways you use the internet related to your hobbies or interests? What would be different about your experience if you couldn’t access the internet?
  • If you could give one piece of advice to younger kids about using the internet or their cell phones, what would it be?

Students - Please create a folder in your drive labeled Advisory 2018.
