constant; unremitting:assiduous reading.
constant in application or effort; working diligently at a task; persevering; industrious; attentive:an assiduous student.
Teachers, please be on the lookout for students demonstrating assiduousness. Sign the bottom of the planner with an early to lunch note!
Ms. Odonnel asked me to choose a club:
*Do you follow through with your assignments and the commitments that you make?
*Do you strive to give your best effort in school on ALL assignments?
This is the final week of Semester 1, and your final chance to show off your assiduousness. Remember, semester grades are part of your permanent academic record. If you end strong, you are more likely to start Semester 2 off strong as well.
If you have LOP make sure you report to the LOP room B21 immediately after the end of Advisory. Do not get lunch or go see your friends. You will be allowed to eat in LOP.
Please note that "I forgot" or "They didn't come and get me" are not excuses and will result in more LOPs.
Being late to LOP or not showing up to LOP will result in consequences that range from double the LOP days to In School or Out of School Suspension. Suspensions, even In School, go on your permanent academic record as well. This is easily avoidable by being a responsible student and attending your LOP, on time, when assigned.
Please note that LOP in Semester 2 will be one hour in length (Advisory and Lunch) and will include a writing assignment.

Next week we will be having speakers from Rachel's Challenge come speak to our students. Please take a look at their website below and Rachel's story. Here are some discussion questions to prepare for the event!!
1. What would you consider to be bullying and why?
2. Do you think those that “bully” always realize when they are “bullying”?
3. Why do you think people bully others?
4. What are some of the cliques on your campus? How do those cliques affect the school culture? Is it in a positive or negative way?
5. What are one or two activities you or your school could do that would make the biggest impact on improving the culture on campus?

Teachers please dismiss students early (immediately) to lunch who meet the criteria set by your grade level.
Students who remain in class should work toward improving their grades.
