PBIS Focus: Citizenship

The behavior expected of a person as a member of a community. The rights privileges and duties that come with being a citizen of a certain country.

Teachers, please be on the lookout for students demonstrating Citizenship. Sign the bottom of the planner with an early to lunch note!

Staying Healthy:

  1. Avoid close contact. - Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too. Don't share your food or drink.
  2. Stay home when you are sick. - If possible, stay home from work, school, and errands when you are sick. This will help prevent spreading your illness to others.
  3. Cover your mouth and nose. - Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. You can also cough or sneeze into your elbow/shoulder. It may prevent those around you from getting sick. Flu and other serious respiratory illnesses, are spread by cough, sneezing, or unclean hands.
  4. Clean your hands. - Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. You should wash for 20 seconds (sing the ABC's). If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
  5. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. - Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
  6. Practice other good health habits. - Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.

Genius Hour Check In!

Students, by now you should have half of the your project complete. You should have pictures of you working on your project or evidence of your progress on your project to share. You may want to download the genius hour presentation template 6th/7th grade OR the 8th Grade Best Works Template to begin creating your presentation for iShowcase. Use this time to update your presentation!

8th Graders you may want to work on your best works at this time as well.

Spring Break is coming up and this is a great opportunity to make progress on your project!

Teachers use this time to check in with students on their progress.
