Students were tasked with designing and engineering a box that had three separate sound components. Students had to use their creativity to write a story about the discovered box and the civilization that used it. Students had to apply their understanding of sound waves to analyse audiographs of each of their components and describe its pitch and volume according to the wavelength characteristics. Upon the completion of the independent portion of the project, students were to use their boxes to perform a song in groups of four or five. Students had opportunities for collaboration in class where they used their communication skills to select their song, design a plan and rehearse prior to the performance. Students performed in the library for other members of their class. Teachers were invited to attend.  Seven students were selected to share their experience at the Holman MS Curriculum Fair.
