DLI: Empowered Learner-A. Students articulate and set personal learning goals, develop strategies leveraging technology to achieve them, and reflect on the learning process itself to improve learning outcomes.Â
Standards for School Counseling Programs: Career Development EC7. Recognize the benefits of both individual initiative and teamwork.Â
A group 4th grade young ladies began by researching influential women in STEAM. Canva was used to showcase their findings and students collaborated to construct a “Path to Success” for the women researched using Sphero Indis. By analyzing the obstacles and barriers these women overcame, students developed critical thinking skills, and set personal goals in career development. This project brings attention to equity and broadens career aspirations by highlighting the contributions of women in STEAM fields, fostering a growth mindset and resilience.Â
"I thought it was fun when we got to work together to do the project! It was really nice. My favorite part was creating the project and figuring out how the path would work. I loved the little details we added!"
Fallon A., 4th Grader
It was a joy to see the students work together on the variety of activities. Their ability to research and transform their discoveries into an innovative creation was impressive. I am so glad that I got to witness their personal strengths shine, hear their thoughts on their own careers and hopes, and portray what they've learned in a format that they are proud to share."
