By creating and implementing lesson plans, high school students deepened their understanding of early childhood education principles. They learned how to develop age-appropriate activities, manage classroom dynamics, and address the diverse needs of young learners. This hands-on approach reinforced their theoretical knowledge, making it more relevant and applicable. The students developed the HLP skill of collaboration. Working together to design and deliver lessons required them to communicate effectively, share responsibilities, and support each other in achieving common goals. This experience fostered teamwork, problem-solving, and the ability to work in a group setting.
"The lesson planning experience allows us to be creative with various themes, while getting to know each preschooler better by observing how they participate."
"ECE students research, create, prepare, and implement preschool lessons for children ages 2-5. This learning experience encourages our ECE students to use LifeReady skills through collaboration, academics, and a focus on creating a safe and supportive learning environment for the diverse needs of our preschool students at Springer Preschool Academy."
