in terms of architecture, inventions, the calendar, and written language.
3.R The student will conduct research and read or listen to a series of conceptually related texts on selected topics to build knowledge on grade-three content and texts, solve problems and support cross-curricular learning.
3rd grade students created persuasive brochures in Canva advertising a trip back in time to ancient Egypt. They began by doing research in various digital sources and taking notes about the location of Egypt, Egyptian architecture, mummification, the importance of the Nile, and ancient Egyptian food. Students then took this information and worked collaboratively to create materials for their travel companies to persuade clients to hire them to journey back in time to ancient Egypt. They pitched their companies and what they had to offer to family and friends at our school's Student Showcase.
"I loved using all the cool facts I learned about Egypt to make my Canva brochure! I think I came up with some really convincing tours so that people would want to travel back in time with me. I mean, wouldn't you want to make your own mummy on your vacation?"
"The students loved this project. They not only practiced their research, technology, and presentation skills, but they had a great time collaborating and using their creativity to demonstrate what they learned."
