Greenport is thrilled to welcome Nancy Hernandez as our new elementary aide! Ms. Hernandez, a Greenport High School graduate, is excited to return to her roots and embark on a new journey in education. She decided to become a teacher’s aide to explore a new career path and grow within the field.
Having grown up in Greenport, Ms. Hernandez shares, “My favorite part of Greenport is all the docks where I can walk and enjoy the water.” Her passion for the community reflects her desire to make a positive impact on the students she works with.
In school, Ms. Hernandez's favorite subject was history, particularly global history, as she loved learning about the past and understanding how it shapes our world today.
Outside of her school responsibilities, Ms. Hernandez enjoys going for walks and cleaning. When asked who she would choose to have dinner with, alive or deceased, she replied, “I would have dinner with my whole family, everyone from the beginning to now! I am very family-oriented and love to hear stories about the past.” She also revealed her hidden talent: “I love to sing, but I have stage fright!”
As she begins her journey at Greenport, Ms. Hernandez wants students to know, “I am very friendly and interested in getting to know everyone!” We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the positive energy she will bring to our school community!
