My second recommendation is one that is different in terms of what styles and genres I usually stick with. Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies by Agnes Nutter (most commonly shortened to just Good Omens)  by the late Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman is another of my favorite books. The story is co-written by one of my favorite authors Neil Gaiman, who has written multiple critically acclaimed novels. These being Coraline (the inspiration behind the 2009 movie of the same name), American Gods, and The Sandman which has just been adapted into a Netflix series.

Good Omens is a humorous fiction written in 1990 about the birth of the son of Satan and the upcoming apocalypse. Attempting to stop the end of the world are the protagonists of the story Aziraphale, an angel and Crowley, a demon who have grown fond of their home on earth. The story contains multiple subplots with fantastic characters which may make you confused when first reading. However, each plot is connected and they ultimately come together at the climax of the story. The book is very easy and may I say fun to read.

I first heard of the novel after watching the 2019 Amazon Prime series of the same name. I loved the show so much that I knew I had to pick up a copy of the book that it was based on.  The story contains multiple subplots which may make you confused when first reading. However, each plot is connected and they ultimately come together towards the end. The book is very easy and may I say fun to read. It is the type of book that you won’t want to put down. I will say, there are a few instances where outdated (mildly offensive) language is used as the story was written in 1990. Looking past this though, if you are into comedy and some fantasy, I highly recommend checking out both the Good Omens series and the novel.
