It’s weird to think that to take a break from all the planning and writing that I do for teaching, I do more planning and writing. But I love playing table-top role-playing games and it doesn’t even register as more of the same.

For the bulk of the population automobiles are often seen as just a means of transportation; a vessel to get from point A to point B. What little interest is paid to their vehicles is usually limited to the color, the radio, and the rising assortment of creature comforts found in modern vehicles.

In today’s busy world, it is so easy to find yourself stuck in the same daily cycle. Go to work, go to the gym, cook dinner, go to sleep, repeat. Finding a way to help you decompress and temporarily remove yourself from these busy days is so important. For me, video games have always been my outlet.

Art is a dynamic and unifying activity with great potential for education, and it’s one of my biggest passions. The process of drawing, painting, constructing, and creating performance-based art is a complex one in which children and adults bring together diverse elements of their experience to make a new and meaningful whole.

I started watching the WWE when it was still called the WWF in about 1985...which was a little while ago. I remember at the time there were only two ways to watch it: there was a WWF show on Saturday morning on channel 9 and there was a TBS show out of Atlanta that was on Saturday nights at 7pm (NWA). When I was a young man I planned my Saturdays around pro wrestling- in the morning and night. Once a month WWF was on prime time TV on channel 4 at 11pm. This was a two-hour prime time show. The matches were a lot of fun to watch and my parents used to let me stay up and watch it. Although, I usually didn’t make it to the end. There was no pay-per-view. You had to watch it when it was on and that was it.

As the setting autumn sun dips below the horizon off the bow of our boat, I am captured by its beauty. Vibrant hues fill the sky, which is difficult to discern from the foliage along the shoreline. The sunset casts lavender hues in the sky behind us, creating a purplish glow to the water off the stern. Beauty exists as we look to the future and remember our past. I breathe deeply.

Last school year started with the promise of another great year including a winning soccer team. The weather was great early in September; Then the rains came. It ended up being the wettest soccer season of my coaching career. Even with the rain we did well and had fun. As expected, the varsity team made the playoffs. We played hard but lost to the school west of us.
