Senior Trip 2023

Senior Trip 2023

Melizza M. Ochoa, Emma Mulhall, Ava Cocheo

Class of 2023

This year, the Senior Trip was held at Jay Peak Resort in Northern Vermont, with Mr. Sage, Mr. Holt, Mrs. Dlhopolsky, and Mr. Toussaint acting as chaperones. Mr. Toussiant and Mrs. Dlhopolsky were definitely the most experienced skiers and snowboarders of the bunch. Many seniors had not stepped foot on a slope before, so this was an exciting opportunity for them.

The senior class either tried their hands at skiing or snowboarding. There were sections called The Magic Carpet and Bunny Hill, where beginners could get a feel for how to ski and snowboard. There you could get a grasp of the basics. A good handful of the seniors knew how to ski and were able to help the beginners. Of course, some seniors took some hard falls, but with everyone's determination we kept getting back on our feet, or in this case skis and snowboards. There was only one way off the slopes: down. Happily, there were no injuries, just lots of smiles.

Skiing and snowboarding weren't the only activities one could do. There was also a waterpark, arcade, salon, gym, and even a ramen place to eat. Anyone who wanted to go to the salon wasn’t able to since there was only one open spot left, but luckily all the other activities were available. At the waterpark, there was a surfing ride, hot tubs, and slides. However, all of these activities were located on the other side of the resort from where the seniors were staying. In order to get to the other side, groups would have to take a bumpy ride on a shuttle bus.

The resort had many gift shops where we could buy souvenirs, clothing, ski gear, etc. This was all in a different hotel though. Overall, the trip was very fun. The class would definitely give this trip a 10/10.

Thank you to the Senior Class Advisors, Mr. Holt, and Mr. Sage for organizing such a memorable and fun trip!
