The week has a lot of exciting events in store. It's spirit week, Monday we are off for Columbus day but Tuesday is pajama day, Wednesday is character day, Thursday is jersey day, and Friday wear your class t-shirts for spirit day. Wednesday we have the SAT for the Seniors and the PSAT for the juniors.
The highlight of the week, Porter Day! It's what the whole week had been leading up to. From volleyball to puzzles, just about everyone was able to compete in order to win the first place prize - the Porter Wheel! This year the Seniors won, but we'll see if they can keep the crown next year...
Below are various pictures from the Porter Day festivities!
Principal Mr. Kalish, dressed up as Greenport's Mascot.
The Freshmen's improvisational lip-sync battle performance.
The Sophmore's lip-sync battle performance, also mostly improvised.
The Junior's lip-sync battle performance. A fan-favorite, for fairly obvious reasons.
The Senior's lip-sync battle performance. Very well choreographed!
The (oddly competitive) Spelling Bee. This got intense!
Sticking to Porter Day's roots, Jersery Day! This day is dedicated to wearing your favorite sports jersey, to make it clear which team you're rooting for. I'm not too big of a sports fan, but it's always awesome to see other's dedication to these teams!
Below are a few students and their jerseys.
New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers(?).
Swedish National Football Team.
New Jersey
Next up, character day! A day for people to dress up as their favorite characters, and share their interests with others! This is a personal favorite, as you can get really creative with this one. I even saw someone in a banana suit, and I had to snap a picture. That's what I call a costume!
The pictures below are of a couple students in their costumes.
from TV series Doctor Who
from hit game series Mario Kart
from popular TV series Demon Slayer
Kicking off spirit day with a classic, Pajama Day. There's something special about wearing your pajamas to school, that you just can't describe. After all, it's not something most people would usually do. That's why this sort of event has gone nation-wide, with schools all over the country having some sort of "pajama day".
The pictures below are of various students in their pajamas. Some even match!
