Springtime!
Last Thursday Acapella and the Theater class took an unforgettable trip to the Broadway museum in New York City.
This week marks our 4 day weekend. Friday and Monday school will be closed due to Good Friday and Easter.
The annual ROTC Military Ball will take place this Thursday in Riverhead.
On April 3rd there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony in honor of the new gym.
The TDF workshop for the Kimberly Akimbo trip on April 17th will begin next week.
The time is ticking for opening night of our spring musical, High school musical. Show dates are April 5th and 6th.

JANUARY
HUGS will be giving the junior high students a presentation on Wednesday the 24th.
The annual NJROTC awards will take place Tuesday(1/30) at Southold High School. The NJROTC program involves Greenport Mattituck and Southold.
The end of the second quarter will be this Friday (1/26). Keep those grades up!
Greenport will have its student-teacher duet on Wednesday, February 1st at 5pm.
DECEMBER
12/18-12/22/23 is the week before Christmas break.
The history club is fundraising with new and improved sweaters, featuring the original Greenport School logo in gold on a black cardigan. Please see Mr. Holt to purchase a sweater.
The high school is currently decorated with Christmas decorations.
On Tuesday (12/19) our basketball team will play against Southold High school(Good luck Porters)
There will be a junior fire department presentation to the middle school students on 12/20 during 3rd period.
In the evening on 12/20 the junior class will be hosting a fundraiser in the auditorium. They will be showing the movie Elf. Rumor is Santa will make an appearance.
And lastly Santa and his elves will make a special appearance to all the elementary students. Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday!

During the week of December 11th there is a lot happening with Porter pals. Everyone will be meeting with their pals in the cafeteria for a special holiday activity.
On Thursday, December 14th Ms. Salgado and Ms. Franzese are taking a group of student to the LILTA East End Men's Conference at the Stony Brook University campus in Southampton.
Word has is that there are holiday gifts in the High School Office. Stop by and say hello to Mrs. Rodgers and Mrs. Kucera and pick up a holiday surprise.
On Wednesday, December 20th the 11th Grade will be hosting a holiday movie night. They will be playing Elf at 5:30pm. There will be popcorn, hot cocoa, and cookies.
NOVEMBER:
This week the History club will be visiting President Roosevelt's estate, Sagamore in Nassau County on Wednesday.
Next week is an exiting week! The high school Chorus and Band concert is on Tuesday and members of the junior class will be heading to Broadway to see Hamilton on Wednesday.
Hey everyone! The quill spoke to Mr. Kalish and we asked him for a few updates for 11/13 - 11/17.
This week marks the first week of the second quarter.
On Thursday, a group of students will be heading to The League Of Women Voters convention.They will leave at 7am and be back by 3pm.
On Friday the 17th Mrs.Hopkins will host a mentor breakfast.
Last week (10/16-10/20) was Greenport's homecoming/spirit week.
Thursday was the homecoming dance and Friday was Porter Day. Mr Kalish said “ I loved Porter Day and I loved the showcase of the mind, body, and spirit of being a Porter. It was a great day to have fun together.”
The winners of the captain's wheel this year were the seniors! (Congratulations to the class of 2024)
The homecoming parade began at 5 and the football game began at 6.
