Greenport's basketball teams have a rich tradition of success, and the athletes strive to continue building on the legacy of hard work and excellence. Whether it’s intense rivalry games or community events, the Greenport basketball teams are a proud representation of the school's athletic commitment. This year's Boys Varsity Basketball team looks promising, and they will likely make it very far this season. The Girls Varsity Basketball team also looks very promising.

Greenport High School’s Boys Varsity Basketball team is known for its competitive spirit, strong teamwork, and commitment to excellence on the court. Located on the North Fork of Long Island, Greenport is a small but proud school with a rich history of athletic achievement. The boys’ basketball team reflects the community's dedication to sportsmanship and hard work. Led by an experienced coaching staff, the team is built on a foundation of discipline and skill development, focusing on both individual growth and collective success. The athletes display a high level of basketball IQ, combining sharp shooting, aggressive defense, and fast-paced offense. Whether competing in regular-season games or playoff matchups, the Greenport Varsity team consistently strives to elevate their game and represent their school with pride.

The Greenport High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team is a powerhouse of talent, determination, and school spirit. Watching this team in action is nothing short of inspiring. They’re not just a group of athletes—they’re a close-knit team that plays with heart, hustle, and a strong sense of pride in representing Greenport. The team is led by dedicated coaches who emphasize the importance of fundamentals, teamwork, and perseverance. Every player contributes something unique, from the leadership of seasoned seniors to the fresh energy and potential of underclassmen. Whether it’s their relentless defense, quick transitions, or clutch shots in the final seconds, they bring intensity and excitement to every game.

Beyond their skills on the court, the players are role models in the community and leaders in the school. They show what it means to work hard, support one another, and never give up, even in the face of tough competition. The Greenport Girls Varsity Basketball Team is more than a team—they’re a source of pride for our school and a reminder of what can be achieved through hard work, unity, and love for the game.

Athletic Director Brian Toussaint stated this when asked about this year's basketball teams: “On the boys' side, I think it's gonna be an exciting season. We have a lot of seniors coming back, so I think it'll be very competitive in our league. I think the goal is definitely to win this county. We’ll see how far we go. The girls' side should have another exciting season. We have Francesca Santacroce from Southold, who has been a team player. She's a junior now; she's gonna lead the team, and they should be very competitive.” All in all, it's looking like an exciting season for both Boys and Girls Varsity basketball teams. It's gonna be a fun but competitive season, and hopefully, both teams start off strong and make it very far this season.
