Transportation Week!

Last week it was all about cars and trucks and things that go! We sang a little transportation song called "Take a Trip," we played builders and bulldozers in the gym, and we also got out all the cars, trucks, trains, airplanes, boats, and vehicles that we could find to play with!

Thank you so much to all the parents who met with me this past week to discuss their child's progress and goals at school. Taking the time to connect is so important and I feel so grateful that everyone went out of their way to make time for these very important meetings!

Transportation Sorting

We did a very simple numeracy activity last week on Wednesday. We worked as at team to sort our vehicles into things that fly, drive on the ground, and go in the water.

Car Craft

The students had the option of making a cute little car craft last week. This activity was a simple way to expand vocabularies while also strengthening fine motor skills.

Our Bubble Tube!

Our classroom got an exciting new sensory item , a bubble tube! This tube has been a big hit, and everyone has been gentle with it so far.

A&W is Open!

We set up A&W in the house center on Monday. The students have been very excited to take orders, cook food, be the cashier, and enjoy some delicious school made A&W meals! A huge thank you goes out to Kumeran Kanagaraj and Devon A&W for donating all the materials we need to set this fun play center up for our students!

Games Day!

Our four-year-olds had a games day this past Monday. They enjoyed learning how to play both Pop Up Pirate and Pig Goes Pop. These simple games are an easy way to facilitate peer interactions and social skills such as taking turns and waiting.

Gingerbread Houses!

Our three-year-olds kicked off the start of December by making gingerbread houses! Thank you to Misti Renton to coming in to help us out with this exciting and messy process! Please note, the houses were put together with melted sugar and are completely edible!

Our four-year-olds will be making their gingerbread houses on Monday,  December 11th. Please send in a bag of candy on this day. We plan to mix all the candy together and then divide it up for the chidren to use, that way each student will have variety.  The houses are made from graham crackers, so there is no need to see a large amount of candy.

Thank You!

A huge thank you goes out to Tricia Mitchell, Amy Larsen-Hartwig,  and Selena White for the last three batches of play dough! Play dough is one of those things that just never seems to lose its excitement for children, so constantly having a fresh batch is very helpful.
