December 5-8

Superhero Week, Part Two!

Well, that was a whole lot of superhero fun! I think our entire staff is exhausted after all the hero chaos happening here in pre-k. From superhero bingo to superheroes in the gym, we were go, go, going all week long!

Spiderman's Web - Collaborative Painting

We worked together to paint Spiderman's webs last week, this huge art project was a big undertaking, but our little superheroes were up to the challenge! The end result looks super cool!

Icy Rescue!

We were in desperate need of some PK superheroes this past week, there were animals and other little characters stuck in the ice! Luckily for us, our little superheroes worked to rescue every last creature from the blocks of ice! This activity was a fun way to practice sharing, explore with the scientific concept of freezing and melting, as well as strengthen our motor skills, all while communicating and working on our speech and language skills too!

Super Puppets!

Making superhero puppets was a big hit this week. Several students chose to visit this station and then had fun zooming their puppets around the classroom when they were done.

Concert Props Needed!

We have been busy practicing and getting ready for our PK concert which will be on December 21st at 6:15 pm. Thank you to the families who already sent in their child's concert props. If you have not yet done so, we are looking for the following supplies:

  • The morning class students need a toque, mittens, and a scarf

  • The afternoon class students need a toque and mittens

  • You are welcome to send these props to school in a labelled ziplock bag at any time. If we have the props early, we will use them for practicing. If you do not have extra toques and mitts laying around and just want to bring them on the concert night that is fine too!

  • I will have some extra props available on the night of the concert, so do not stress if you forget!

**Please let me know if your child will not be attending our concert.

I have included our concert songs and poems incase you want to practice them at home.
