A Week of Colours
A Week of Colours
After noticing several students were mixing paint and trying to make new colours last week, I decided a week of colourful fun was in order for PK! From colour mixing to green show and tell, there was a lot of colour happening in our room.

Farewell Ms. Sather!
Farewell Ms. Sather!
Tuesday was our last day with Ms. Sather. Everyone was sad to say goodbye as she is such a fun and talented teacher. Good luck with your career, Ms. Sather, feel free to come back and visit!

Our class worked together with the grade 1/2 combined class (Ms. Sather's other class), to make her a book, I think she was surprised and liked the gift!

Colour Mixing
Colour Mixing
On Monday our four-year-olds tried their hand at mixing colours. Following these directions was tricky business and called for careful listening! Everyone was excited to see the new colours we could make and some students stayed mixing for a long time after the activity ended.

A Colourful Experiment!
A Colourful Experiment!
On Tuesday Ms. Sather planned a scientific activity where students could mix, pour, stir, and create all sorts of different solutions. The students were offered endless supplies of coloured vinegar, baking soda, jello powder, pop rocks, cinnamon, and all sorts of materials that they were allowed to freely mix and observe for different chemical reactions and colour changes. As you can imagine, this activity was a hit and many of our scientists staying mixing and experimenting for a long time.

Green Show and Tell
Green Show and Tell
We had green show and tell on Thursday. The students are really beginning to understand the concept and seem to be more excited with each show and tell we have. Show and tell helps students work on public speaking, taking turns, and listening to others.

Getting Colourful Outside!
Getting Colourful Outside!
We couldn't resist bringing our colour week outside too. On Wednesday we made chalk paint to use on the tarmac. Chalk paint only has corn starch, food colouring, and water. You can easily make it at home too if you're interested. Just google a recipe, there are lots!
