On Monday, we watched a short video on taking care of our hearts and then brainstormed things we can do to keep our hearts healthy. The list our students produced was impressive! Our school participated in jump rope for heart this week, and we had a few prizes to give away. Check out our lucky winners who each took home a skipping rope!

A Kind Delivery
On Tuesday we read My Heart Fills With Happiness. We then brainstormed kind messages to write on paper hearts and hung them up around the school office to fill our school with happiness. The students were excited to pick a place to hang their hearts and to hang them up on their own!

Valentine's Day was so exciting. The students were eager to be scientists and were each given their own Valentine's science tray that they could freely experiment with.

We also enjoyed watching a little Valentine's Day movie, and of course, the students were thrilled to pass out Valentine cards to each other!

Painting With Clothespins
Painting With Clothespins
On Thursday we strengthened our fine motor skills and hand eye coordination by painting with clothespins. This activity was hard work for little fingers. The students first had to use a clothes pin and a cotton ball to make a paint brush, then they used the paint brush to paint a Valentine's Day heart.

Winter Walk Day
Winter Walk Day
Last week was winter walk day, our morning class enjoyed a little walk around the school yard followed by some hot chocolate. However, our afternoon class didn't make it outside in time and the hot chocolate stand was already put away! So, we had our own little winter walk with the afternoon class this week on Tuesday, complete with hot chocolate at the end. And it was worth the wait! Everyone was so excited for this special treat.

Space Week 2.0!
Space Week 2.0!
Last week was a short little week, but we finished up our space unit and crammed in as much fun as we could! Our four-year-olds made name space ships on Monday. But the most exciting part of the week was definitly the balloon-rocket science experiment we did. Our afternoon class got so into this experiment that we had to move to the hallway where we had more space to stretch our line longer and see just how far that balloon rocket would go.
