We Are Blasting Off Into Learning This Week!
Our young explorers are soaring through our space theme as we learn about planets, stars and astronauts!
Our kinetic sand play center encouraged creativity and sensory exploration this week!
We worked hard on our moon art using tin foil for paint dabbing! This hands on art helped the kiddos with their fine motor skills, exploring textures and making real-world connections to the moon and its bumpy surface! We also tried our hand at squish painting by making suns using plastic wrap and paint. This painting experience is fun because if you are careful, you can keep your hands clean!
We also played in our space themed water table exploring pouring, problem solving and building our fine motor skills as well!
On Tuesday our four-year-olds practiced sequencing the letters of their name, while strengthening their fine motor skills and making a spaceship craft.
We watched an age appropriate video on Friday about Remembrance Day and why people wear a poppy. The underlying message was that wearing a poppy is a way to say I'm thankful to live in a country where I can be free to do so many fun things like play outside and go to school. After this we gave each student a poppy to wear. On Thursday our four-year-olds made a poppy craft. The display in the hallway is beautiful.
Last week was short but we packed in a lot of Halloween fun. From the Halloween parade to pumpkin volcanoes, it was a great time!
We brought in a couple of pumpkins last week for the students to enjoy decorating and also a little science experiment, pumpkin volcanoes!
Feel free to click on the following links to see all of our pictures from the first bit of the school year. Thank you for patiently waiting until we had everything sorted out so we could start sharing. If you are not seeing any pictures of your child, it means you either said "no" when you were filling your child's FOIP form out, or that you still need to fill your child's Verification Form out. This can be done through your PowerSchool account.
