March 14-17

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We were so surprised on Thursday to discover that the Leprechauns had visited our classroom! We looked and looked, but sadly we couldn't find any Leprechauns in our rooms, I think they escaped out the window!

Clover Painting

Some of our students used marbles to paint clovers this past week. The final product looks so cool!

Student-Led Conferencing

Thank you to all the families who came out to student-led conferencing last Wednesday. Our students were thrilled to bring their families inside the building to make a craft together and tour our Pre-K classrooms. It was exciting to have parents and family members back in the school after two long years.

Leprechaun, Leprechaun

We did this finger play poem last week and the students really liked it. I bet they would enjoy doing it with you at home too!

Leprechaun, Leprechaun

Leprechaun, leprechaun, (put up pointer finger)

hiding in the hay (hid finger under your opposite hand).

Leprechaun, leprechaun, (put up pointer finger)

don't you run away (hide your finger behind your back).

Leprechaun, leprechaun, (put up pointer finger)

let's go out and play (put up both pointer fingers dancing together).

Leprechaun, leprechaun, (put up pointer finger)

It's St. Patrick's Day! (wave both hands)

Volcano Fun!

We erupted green volcanoes this week. This project started last week after the students were interested in the volcanoes found on Mars. Being that it was St. Patrick's Day this week, we decided to make our lava GREEN! Everyone loved this scientific exploration.

Vinegar and baking soda play seems to never lose it's excitement, it is a simple activity you can enjoy at home as well. We created our volcanos by forming playdoh around little cups (we used a no-bake playdoh recipe for this activity).
