Happy Father's Day!

Our entire PK team would like to wish our hard working dad's a very Happy Father's Day! We know being a dad isn't always easy and we want to wish you a Father's Day full of special memories and fun times with your loved ones.

Goodbye and Good Luck Mrs. Moench!

Our practicum student, Mrs. Moench had her last day with us on Monday. Luckily for us, she plans to come back on the last day of PK to play with us, so we will get to see her one last time!

Good luck with the rest of your schooling and your future career Mrs. Moench, you will be missed!

Sailboats Galore!

As part of our camping theme we made some pool-noodle sail boats this week. This simple craft reinforces following directions as well as hand-eye coordination and was a big hit with the students. I even saw one sailboat being tested in a puddle on it's way home!

Camping Words

On Wednesday we had a little scavenger hunt around our classroom to expand and reinforce our camping vocabulary words. Some of the words like canteen and lantern were new to most of our students!

Drum Fit

We had a BLAST trying drum fit in the gym this week. I was thoroughly impressed how well everyone could follow along to the different drum fit videos and songs. If you have an exercise ball and drum sticks (or even chop sticks) at home, you may want to try balancing the ball on a hamper or something and then playing a simple drum fit video for your child to show you their skills! I have included one of the videos we used this week, you can find more on YouTube!

A Special Visit to Kindergarten (part one!)

To support our kindergarten kids that will be transitioning to kindergarten in the fall, we went for a little play in Ms. Garlough's kindergarten room on Tuesday. Everyone was SO excited and they have been asking to go back every day since our visit.

Next week we will be visiting Mrs. Culp's kindergarten room.

Last Day of PK!

It's hard to believe next week will be our last week of PK.

Thursday, June 23rd is our official last day.

Water Play - Send Extra Clothes!

  • If the weather cooperates, we are planning some fun outdoor activities for our last day that involve water play. Please send your child in appropriate clothing and be sure put sunscreen on them before they leave for school, and also pack a hat. If you think your child will want to change out of their wet clothes before heading home, please ensure they have a dry change of clothes in their backpack as well.

  • If the weather is not cooperating, we will try to have as much of the water fun inside as we can, so please plan to pack those extra clothes either way!

  • If it is a sunny day, and we are outside, parents are more than welcome to come join or watch our water fun if they wish. We will be outside for approximately the last 45 minutes of the morning and the afternoon.

**If the weather is not cooperating, please plan to pick your child up at our normal pick up time from our PK doors. Unfortunately, we simply do not have the space needed to have parents join us if we are stuck inside.

Special Snack

  • We will be watching a movie as a special treat during snack time on our last day as well. Please feel free to send your child with special movie snacks for them to enjoy!
