It's hard to believe, another year of pre-kindergarten has come to an end. Thank you to all of our dedicated PK families for working with our PK team this year to make the school year such a success for our students.

National Indigenous People's Day
National Indigenous People's Day
Tuesday was National Indigenous People's Day. We learned a bit about Canada's colonial history and how the Indigenous people lived here on Turtle Island long before Devon was a town. We took some time to say a land acknowledgment together and also repeated this land acknowledgment before heading outside to connect with nature.

We have also been doing a new hello song this month that has words in both English and Cree. The students have been having fun singing along and learning some Cree words too! I have included the song incase you want to do it at home as well.

Even though the weather was not ideal, we still managed to pack a whole bunch of water fun inside our classroom. From baby bathtubs, to a car wash and icy cold freezies, this day was filled with happy memories and wet times!

We also spent some time this week talking about Canada Day. We strengthened our fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination by making some Canada Day wind socks.

We got crafty painting rocks this past week. I explained the Devon Rocks program to our students too, so if your child is asking to go hide their precious painted rock, that is why!

On Monday we ventured upstairs for a play with Mrs. Culp in her kindergarten room! Everyone was excited to check out the new space and try out some new toys.

For those of you that are moving on, will miss your littles when they go kindergarten in the fall. Be sure to pop in and say hi from time to time! For the students that will be staying with us next year, we are looking forward to seeing you back in the fall.
