The Very Hungry Caterpillar
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
On Monday, our four-year-olds read the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar and then worked to sequence the letters in their names by making a caterpillar craft. Many of our three-year-olds were intersted when they saw the caterpillars hanging up in the room and requested to make one as well.

On Wednesday, I was away, and our students enjoyed this story again with my substitute teacher, Mrs. Russell. Reading the same book again and again might feel tedious for adults, but it is so comforting for children as they know what to expect and often gain the confidence to participate by reading along.

Painting with Worms!
Painting with Worms!
On Tuesday, we read Worm Weather and tried out the very messy activity of painting with "worms" (pieces of yarn). This fine motor activity is quick, simple, messy, and so fun!

Gardeners in the Making!
Gardeners in the Making!
On Thursday we learned what a seed needs to grow: soil, sun, and water. We then decorated flower pots, planted seeds, and carefully put them in the window where they will have sun. Fingers crossed we are able to grow flowers like we hope!

Spell-a-Thon!
Spell-a-Thon!
Early Intervention Pre-K participated in the Robina Baker spell-a-thon this past week. Our goal was to keep the activity age appropriate, while allowing students the opportunity to be a part of this fun, school wide fundraiser. Our students were challenged to find and circle their name. If you collected pledges for the spell-a-thon, the money is due next week on Monday, April 15th.
