January 10-13

Snow Much Fun!

We had so much snow over the break... This gave us so many playful opportunities. From playing on the snow mountains to painting snow storms inside the classroom, it was a week to love this wintery country we live in!

Snow Storm Painting

After reading the silly story, There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow, we had fun painting snowing scenes of our own. This activity is so simple and involves painting on tinfoil with a Q-tip. Tinfoil is such a smooth surface and very relaxing to paint on. You might want to try it at home too!

Snowflakes Snowflakes

We did this very simple action song this week, the students seemed to enjoy the simplicity of it. It strengthens gross motor skills while working on concepts such as big and small. I have included it in case you want to do it at home as well! The actual song starts at about the 33-second mark, you may want to fast forward through the talking.

Snow Mountains!

We had so much fun climbing and playing on the snow mountains last week. Thank you for sending snowpants and all the winter gear we needed to make this happen! Don't forget to label ALL of your child's belongings as we often find mittens and other items on the ground throughout the week.

Bringing Snow Inside!

We even brought the snow inside this week... Bringing a bin of snow inside is a fun sensory experience that allows your child to explore with snow in a new way. This station was a big hit on Monday!
