Snow Much Fun!

We had a "sno-wonderful" week this past week! It was the second week of our winter/snow theme and there was oodles of chilly fun happening in our classroom.

Snowman Names

On Monday our four-year-olds worked on sequencing the letters of their names as they made a snowman craft. From now until June our four-year-olds will be spending their Mondays working on skills that will help prepare them for kindergarten.

The Arctic Ocean!

You can't have a winter week without the Arctic Ocean! Many students had fun braving the cold water to play with this iceberg filled water table. This was a fun sensory experience that allowed students to explore with scientific concepts like sinking and floating, as well as temperature change as the ice started to melt.

Snow Volcanoes!

Science is always a big hit in pre-kindergarten. So, in honour of winter week, we decided to take some of our science outside and made snow volcanoes. This activity was exciting and some students were even correct in their predictions of what might happen when we put baking soda and vinegar into our volcanoes.
