April 6-8

Spring is Here!

It was so exciting to see everyone back from spring break! Spring is finally here and we celebrated it in pre-kindergarten by engaging in a week of spring-themed fun.

It's Raining!

On Monday we were scientists again! We worked together to make rain clouds in a jar. This fun science experiment was very engaging for the students.

Emergency Evacuation

Our school had a practice emergency evacuation on Tuesday afternoon. I was so proud of how well the afternoon class did! Everyone exited quickly and quietly in an organized fashion.

There will be more emergency evacuation practices in the upcoming weeks!

Spring Flowers

After reading a book about gardens and sunflowers, we took time on Tuesday and Wednesday to create flowers of our own. This project strengthened fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The final product is so cute!

Learning Stories

I am slowly working on writing learning stories for each of your children. Learning stories capture small moments of learning during everyday activities. I will be collecting your child's learning stories to put in a little book that they can keep at the end of the school year. Thank you to the families who have commented on their child's learning stories so far. If you comment on your child's learning story then your precious words will be included in your child's book as well!

The students love hearing their stories. They have access to look at or listen to them whenever they want. I have also found that when we read these stories together, the students are often motivated to engage in the same activity again.

If you have not seen a learning story come home yet that is okay! It is a time consuming process and I am sending the learning stories home as I complete them!

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the learning story process.
