September 8 -10

We had a wonderful staggered start to pre-k (PK) this week! I was so proud of all of our students for separating from their Mom's and Dad's for a fun filled time at school!

In PK we were busy doing all sorts of things! We took oodles of pictures of our students hard at work, but unfortunately I cannot share them with you until the office verifies that we have FOIP forms signed from all of our students.

Don't you worry though, we will have a picture-palooza when we are allowed to post!

Hand Washing!

We read the book Germs, Yuk! and practiced washing our hands. We discovered that washing your hands for twenty seconds is a very long time! We used the poem "This Little Piggy" to help pass the time as we practiced scrubbing our fingers.

To help keep everyone safe, we will be washing our hands frequently this school year.

We also learned about the importance of not touching our faces!

Pete the Cat!

In PK, we LOVE Pete the Cat! I introduced my students to one of my favourite Pete books: Pete the Cat: I Love my White Shoes. After reading Pete's story, we chose our favourite shoe from the book to paint. Painting strengthens fine motors skills and also develops hand-eye coordination. Check out our master pieces!

Park Time!

Each class enjoyed spending time at the park.

We love to get outside and plan to do so as much as possible. Sometimes we will end our day at the park. Look for this sign hanging in the door window to find out if pick up is happening at the park.
