OCTOBER 18, 2020

Our students really enjoyed the early winter wonderland this past Friday! It was perfectly sticky snow for snow building of many kinds, but the most popular activity was to see who could roll the largest ball! If you would like to see a few more pictures, please click on this link: SNOW PICS

JUST A REMINDER . . .

RBES will be having a Black and Orange dress up theme day on Friday, October 30th. We are encouraging students to wear black and orange and/or funky halloween socks or t-shirts (of which we have seen a few already).

Please do not send any treats or snacks for the class as we are not able to share anything and they will be sent back home. Thank you!

There is still time to get in on the draw! You can also send the link to friends or family for a chance to win and raise funds for our school!

The Robina Baker Parent Fundraising Committee is the primary fundraising body for Robina Baker Elementary School in Devon, Alberta.

We serve the school by providing funds for the following that would otherwise not be available to our students including:

• School and classroom supplies for art classes and library

• Subscriptions to computer programs such as Mathletics which is aligned with the Alberta Curriculum

• Special programs including cultural shows, performances and art programs

• Technology including offsetting the costs of items such as chrome book carts, sound systems and smart boards.

Our eventual dream is to expand and enhance our playground at the school but Covid has hit our fundraising hard and the primary goal of this fundraiser is to continue to support the annual items that we pay for in the school including agendas and our Mathletics subscription.

Ticket Sales End: November 1, 2020

All Black Gold Schools follow the Hour Zero Emergency Response Program. The following one page summary will give you an idea of some of the common language that we use. Each classroom has practiced a couple of evacuation drills individually and the teachers talk to our students about the different scenarios that can happen as part of our emergency preparedness program. We will update you when we practice some of our other drills. We have to keep in mind Covid safety protocols as well and have come up with work around solutions so that we are all still prepared in the event of an emergency.

It is important that you don't opt out of email or text communication from the school as you will not receive emergency notifications if you do.
