AFTER SCHOOL PLAYGROUND USE:

This is a reminder for all Robina Baker families that our playground is closed after school until 3:45. This is based on our School Re-entry Plan (page 9 under pick up procedures) and our Covid protocols. Students and families are welcome to come back to the school after 3:45 to utlize the play space, but we ask that all students head home first. There are many safety reasons for this, but it is also a management issue. If some parents choose to stay with their children after school, we don't know which children belong to adults or which have decided to stay on their own. Mr. Schnell and Mrs. Kloschinsky are out front supervising and our staff does not have the supervisors available that would be needed to keep our playground safe and open after school. Please remind your children as well. Thank you for your continued support in helping to maintain a safe environment at RBES!

CONGRATULATIONS to 1C for winning the Rad Raptor Weekly Contest! This class put extra special thought into three wonderings about the following piece of Cree Art. We loved your creativity! Here is what they wondered:

1. We wonder if the people are afraid of the bear and what they are doing inside.

2. We wonder what the bear is holding and how the people were able to go inside. Is the bear holding something that took away the voice and words of the people. Is the bear a shapeshifter?

3. We wonder why the moon looks different than usual.

4. The bear looks like he is holding a drum and his mouth is open, is he chanting or singing? Maybe he is a shapeshifter and is actually a human.

We also had to give special mention and share the wonderings for 2B. So many great ideas to pursue in our learning.

How long will the people stay inside the tent?

What is the creature outside of the tent?

Where are they?

How are the people inside the tent feeling?

How old are the people?

What do the people look like?

3A made these beautiful paper quilts in their culminating art project celebrating Black History month. These amazing quilts symbolize the ones made by the women in Gee's Bend as a way to earn money for their families.

Mrs. Suter's 2A class made digital Inukshuk's this past week prior to making a paper version for Art. Click play on the slideshow below to check out their amazing creations. Wow!!!
