THEME OF THE MONTH: KINDNESS

Our theme of the month for February is Kindness. Students are encouraged on a daily basis to really focus on Kindness and to be more thoughtful than usual. Students will "be caught" being Kind throughout this last week of February and if an adult in the building catches their RAK (Random Act of Kindness) they are invited to choose a square to write their name on at the office. Draws will be made next week for prizes!

Our PINK SHIRT DAY will be on Wednesday, February 26. Please have your child wear pink to support the theme of KINDNESS MATTERS!

Congratulations to all of this week's Students of the Week! You can click here for individual photos!

Wrist Band Challenge Winners

Week 18: February 21, 2020

Our grade 1s and 2s celebrated the 100th day of school on Tuesday, Feb. 18. They visited a number of activity centers throughout part of their afternoon and made various pictures and trail mix, did 100 excercises and other tasks to reinforce the learning of patterns, counting, the number 100 and how it all relates to their world. Each of the classes did different things, but some dressed up like they were 100, some made fancy "100 item shirts", while others made crowns or head bands or did extra fun activities. It was a very exciting afternoon! Click here for more pictures from this event!

If you use the RBES calendar on your phone, it seems to have disappeared. You will need to go back onto the school website and reload it.

We are lucky enough to have another skating week starting on February 24th. PLEASE consider volunteering to tie skates or be on the ice during your child’s classroom time or any other time you may have available. It was extremely hard to get volunteers in January and it would be very disappointing if this amazing opportunity had to be cancelled due to lack of volunteers.

Grade 4 parents were sent a letter from Adriana LaGrange, Minister of Education, regarding the Accountability Pillar Survey. It would have looked like the photo here.

The results of this survey helps to find out what is working and identify areas for improvement relating to the programing our children are receiving. To date, there have only been four RBES parents respond to this survey out of 60+ Grade 4 students. The deadline for response is February 28, 2020. We urge you to fill out the form or complete the survey online so that we may gather important information related to our own school. If you need access to a computer to complete the survey please use the computer provided in the office of the school. Please take time as it is so important to our children.
